To really enjoy a fantasy comedy like The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, I have to remember how I saw the world as a child. What is more beautiful than to take the mind of a child literally or to capture it in pictures? Terry Gilliam does that with his pictures and of course his effects. We adults would call The Man Who Killed Don Quixote a special effects film. Behind it hides the typical Terry Gilliam humor and some satire. Of course, this isn't a children's film, but one that is fascinated by children. That is to say, a tribute to the spirit of a child.
